Désireux de créer des mélodies prenantes et des riffs accrocheurs, MyProof se forme durant le mois d'avril 1999 au Japon. Shimpei, Tadashi et Tohru sont le noyau du groupe et ils sont rejoint plus tard part Kai en janvier 2001 pour solidifier le line up. Comme la plupart des groupes de melodic metalcore actuels se sont contenté d'user et d'abuser des riffs à la At The Gates et In Flames, MyProof a quant à lui préférer prendre référence sur le son du heavy des années 80 (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest et bien d'autres) et y ajouter leur amour pour la pop asiatique, ballade, anime et jeux vidéo donnant donc à leurs sons la variété et la complexité manquant un peu à l'heure d'aujourd'hui.
Estimant que le nom ou l'étiquette "Swedish influenced melodic metalcore" ne rendait pas justice à leurs sons unique, ils ont donc créé un nom pour cela et l'ont appelé "Modern-Classic Style". Pour le décrire simplement, mixé la technique du son actuel du metalcore et mélangé la avec des duels de guitares (harmonies et solos) provenant du heavy metal des 80's et ajouté y quelques influences d'anime et de jeux vidéo et terminé avec une touche de pop asiatique et de vocaux de style ballade et vous pourrez enfin imaginer la complexité du groupe cependant vraiment accrochante.
Leur première sortie "Shining Stardust" (Gods Child Music) a montré qu'ils avaient des idées nouvelles à partager au style "renfermé" du HxC melodique. Leur façon unique de construire des mélodies prenantes et des riffs accrocheurs leur a donné une solide "fan base" aussi bien au Japon que dans le reste du monde. Leur sortie suivante chez Gods Child Music, "Reason for my justice" montrera leur maturité en tant que musiciens et auteurs. Avec celle-ci, plus de ballades chantées et des break plus hardcore sont ajoutés à leurs riffs. Les harmoniques entre les deux guitares et les soli sont également plus impressionnants et reste toujours dans la veine du heavy des années 80. Le travail à la batterie sonne quant à lui beaucoup plus "naturel" et s'ajoute vraiment à la diversité déjà existante de l'album. Et pour finir, le chant se travaille aussi s'offrant occasionnellement des parties death sur des textes traitant du stress et des conflits de la vie quotidienne, et sur leurs résolutions.
En 2007, MYPROOF sort, toujours via Akashi Inc., le mini album "The Sky Of Destiny, qui sera suivi en janvier 2008 par une license en Thaïlande sous le label "I Scream Music Records" (version vendue sur notre boutique en ligne). Fin de l'année dernière, leur nouvel album "Pupil Of Astraea" voit le jour. Une sortie qui reste sur les acquis des précédents travaux du groupe à savoir des guitares où l'harmonie sonne toujours aussi bien tant dans les duels à deux guitares que durant les solos. Du Caliban... en mieux !
Born out of the desire to create catchy melodies and finger breaking riffs, MyProof was formed during April of 1999 in Japan. Shimpei, Tadashi, and Tohru are the core members and they were later on joined by Kai on January of 2001 to solidify the line up. As most of melodic metalcore bands nowadays have contented themselves in ripping off the overly used and abused riffs of At The Gates and In Flames, MyProof have totally embraced the classic 80's heavy metal sound (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and the likes) and have injected it with their love for Asian pop, ballad, anime and computer games thus giving their sounds variety and complexity that their contemporaries are lacking off.
They felt that being pigeon holed or tagged as Swedish influenced melodic metalcore won't do any justice to their unique sounds, so they have created a name for it and called it as Modern-Classic Style. To simply describe it, mix the technicality of the modern sound of metalcore then mixed it up with a total nod to 80's heavy metal's dual guitar harmonies and solos then add some influence of anime and video game sounds then inject it with ample amount of Asian pop and ballad style singing then you can figure out the band's complex yet very infectious music.
Their debut release, "Shining Stardust" (Gods Child Music), have shown that they have fresh ideas to share to the claustrophobic melodic metalcore genre. Their unique take on making catchy melodies and finger breaking riffs have given them a solid fan base in and outside of Japan. Their upcoming release at Gods Child Music, "Reason for my justice ", displays their maturity as individual musicians and as great songwriters. With this, they have put more amounts of ballad style singing (but not too much) and heavy hardcore breakdown to their already impressive finger breaking riffs. The dual guitar harmonies and solos are much more impressive now and are still the same nod to 80's heavy metal just like with those of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. The drum works sound more natural this time and really added to the diversity of this masterpiece. The vocalist's snarls are much more vicious now and this time he have proven that he can actually sing and make some occasional death metal style vocals. The lyrics deal about the distress and conflict of our daily lives and how to solve it. The best part of this release is the recording. It's really top notch and I can assure that it's a major record label quality. It's surprising since the band said that they only recorded it in their home studio. It just proves further that they are really great musicians.
They participates in the compilation CD put on the market from "I Scream Music " in Thailand in July, 2007. They released first mini album "The Sky Of Destiny" from label "AKASHI inc." that they started up in December of the same year. A domestic and foreign evaluation has been improved more by high music of a superior technique and quality. The tour to Thailand was dared along with the sale of "The Sky Of Destiny" next January, 2008. The right of the license release was acquired from "I Scream Music " by the success in the tour in Thailand and the name value has risen more. They toured Malaysia and Thailand in August of the same year and got into the news because of co-starring with popular worldwide metal core band "Caliban" etc.. They have been receiving support from a lot of countries now by the music of the high quality and an overwhelming performance. After they returned to Japan from the tour, new work "Pupil Of Astraea" was released in December, 2008.
